Baroness Dyrfinna challenges the populace to have fun and play with our theme of the day by incorporating the spirit of herbs and spices into your dress, decor, or feast table for the day. If you’ve “cooked” up something special, please bring it to Her Excellency’s attention as she makes her progress. As Her Excellency will be selecting the winner, please refrain from using ginger or jasmine in any submission due to allergy.
Herbal Craft Activity:
Our Baroness Dyrfinna graciously invites the populace to join her for a craft activity of card making with elements of period spices, plants, and flowers. Please join us under the Arts Ramada for this lovely activity, children are most welcome!
Arts & Sciences Competition and Display:
Please set up your item(s) for display at one of the tables under the Arts Ramada by 11:30am. We will have a 1 hour artisan showcase from 1pm to 2pm. All artisans are asked to participate by coming to the Arts Pavilion and stand with their art and discuss.
Arts entries can also include what you are wearing for the day or heraldic/decorative display at your pavilion, if it fits the theme, Tournament of the Sun: A Festival of Fire and Spice. If this is the case for your entry, please provide a paper with at least your name, a description of your entry (and ideally a photo of said entry) at the display table during the competition and, if possible, be present for the artisan showcase. For example: if you embroider and make candles, you can contribute some of each, as long as the total adds up to a dozen. Their Highnesses—soon to be Majesties—will select an overall winner (though truly, by entering, you have already won through your generosity!). The overall winner will be allowed to take one item from every entry.
All who participate will then be able to choose one item total from the pool of entries. All remaining items will be used at Their Majesties’ discretion in support of the Kingdom. There is not a theme, but please make certain to include a label with your information. The contest will be at Coronation on 07/11/2026 in the fair Barony of Gyldenholt and so will I! If you have questions, please feel free to reach out to Lady Kutiba.
PPF - Ottoman Feast Silent Auction
Perfectly/Plausibly Period Feast (PPF) Ottoman is holding a silent auction for the feast's beautifully hand-painted Ottoman dining plates. These plates are recreations of extant period designs, painted by our very own artisans here in Caid, and will be waiting to go home to buyers after the PPF event. This is your opportunity to bid on taking home one of the feast plates for yourself, even if you are unable to attend PPF. Winners who are attending the PPF event can take their plate home immediately after the event, and the PPF organizers will arrange for delivery to winners who are not attending PPF. For a sneak peek at the different designs that will be available for auction, keep an eye on the PPF website, where photos will be posted as the plates are created: https://ppf-caid.org/fundraising/
