🌼 Happiness Happens at Uncollared 🌼
Calafia Rapier Tournament
Happiness isn’t just a feeling — it’s a duel well fought, a risk bravely taken, a creation proudly shared, and a day spent with your people. This year at the Uncollared Tournament, we celebrate the truth that:
Happiness happens when we fence, create, and cheer each other on.
Whether you win with a blade or earn your second life through art, every moment is a chance to choose joy, courage, and community.
SCHEDULE:
Site opens 8am
Court 10am (or at their majesties/excellencies pleasure)
List closes 15 minutes after court
Closing court 4pm
Site closes 5pm
EVENT REGISTRATION: Adult Event Registration, $20.00. Adult Member Discount Event Registration, $10.00. Children under 18 are guests of the Barony. Cash and checks accepted at gate. Make checks payable to “SCA Inc./Canton of Summergate”.
COMBAT SCENARIOS: The Rapier list shall be single elimination, except that a second life may be gained by demonstration or display of a recent art or science project. Finals will be fought best of 11 with no weapons form repeated (Commonly referred to as an Uberelf), so please bring out all of your secondaries (Extras will be on hand as necessary). A prize will also be awarded to the Most Well-Rounded Fighter of the day.
The Cut & Thrust list shall also be a single elimination, except that a second life may be gained by demonstration or display of a recent art or science project. Finals will also be fought best of 11 but it will be first blood, weapons forms will be negotiated between the MoDs on site.
If a fighter Really wants to, they may enter both lists, but the extra life from an art only applies to one list, and they must choose when entering the list.
While the lists are not open to Masters of Defense — we would love to see you on the field as marshals, mentors, and witnesses to the joy.
Because at the end of it all, this day isn’t just about victory.
It’s about:
• The friend who cheers your comeback
• The art that brings you back to the line
• The laugh after a double
• The moment you try something new
Happiness happens here — on the list field, at the A&S table, and in every shared moment in between.
A&S COMPETITION: The arts and science competition is open to all who choose to enter. Entries will be on display during the day. (If you plan to take your entry into combat, please provide a photo and brief description of the piece for the display.) Festival of the Rose (Dun Or)
August 15, 2026 8:30 am - 5:00 pm
41337 10th St W, Palmdale, CA 93551, USASee description
Unto the Good People of Caid, warm Greetings and most gracious Salutations!
The Barony of Dun Or joyfully invites one and all to join us for a day of mirth, merriment and noble fellowship at the Festival of the Rose, to be held upon Saturday, the Fifteenth of August 2026. Come and join us in a splendid celebration of love, beauty, and the Arts and Artisans of glorious Caid, held in honor of Her Royal Majesty, our radiant and most beloved Queen Fara!
The noble tradition of the Festival of the Rose first blossomed in the year 1980 as the Queen’s Arts Tea, when Her Royal Majesty Amsha called upon the Chivalry and the Royal Guard to display their skill and talents in honor of the occasion, and in tribute to the Crown. In that same spirit of inspiration, Her Majesty, Queen Fara, most warmly invites and encourages all associates to the Peerage — Squires, Apprentices, Protégés, Provosts, and Prodigies alike —
together with all artisans, scholars, and performers throughout the realm, to present the fruits of their skill and imagination in the Arts, Sciences, and the Bardic traditions. Whether set forth for admiration or entered in honorable competition, let all works be offered in celebration of Her Majesty and in pursuit of the title of Her Champion. And should you have need of treasures rare and wondrous, rejoice! A silent auction will be held for the benefit of the Kingdom Travel Fund! If you are interested in gifting the auction with any treasures - in good condition, of course- that you may no longer need, please bring them for inclusion, or email a detailed gift certificate to Her Royal Majesty's Chamberlain, Duchess
Lorissa, at thelorissa@sca-caid.org!We look forward to celebrating Beauty, Love, and Our Beloved Queen Fara with you at the Festival of the Rose!

Muses' Masque (Kingdom A&S)
August 29, 2026 4:30 pm - 9:30 pm
10410 Edinger Ave, Fountain Valley, CA 92708, USASee description
Muse's Masque is Caid's newest arts event coming up on August 29th. This evening event is a social space and non-competitive arts showcase that gives us an opportunity to come together as a community and raise funds to help that community grow.
The event is not selling any tickets at the door and is pre-register only. Both standard tickets ($50 member, $60 non-member) and a more limited number of patron’s tickets ($100/$110) are available. Those patron’s tickets will include a special upgraded site token and your name and arms on a Patron’s Roll of Arms.
The event includes food in its ticket cost and the venue is selling alcohol on site. There will also be baubling, live music, dancing and a fashion show.
For more information, or to purchase tickets go to: https://places.sca-caid.org/caid/muses-masque-2/
Patron Registration closes July 16 at 10 PM.
Standard Registration closes August 21 at 10 PM.
We have a variety of classes and workshops that are feeding into this event over the course of the next year, leading up to August 29, 2026. Keep an eye out for many other upcoming opportunities to learn dance, play music, and get help with costuming.
Site
The beautiful site has plentiful parking. Join us in the Banquet Hall of the David L. Baker Golf Course. They have a rock solid air conditioning system.
Food and Beverages
Your admission to the Masque includes an assortment of period party foods made by a collection of Caid's fabulous chefs. The meal is being presented as a series of social small plates, rather than a sit-down feast. While dessert is included in the cost of your ticket, we’re also setting up a bonus potluck dessert area for additional sweets. The venue is managing an on-site bar where alcohol will be available for purchase.
Baubling
There will be a parlor with games of skill and chance. There will be opportunities to wager your baubles in good-natured gambling. We will be offering several bags of notable and special baubles for sale for $5 a bag at the event. (Those that have small items of interest, be they unique tokens from SCA experiences or well loved and traveled baubles from the gaming community, and would like to donate to this cause, please speak to His Excellency Diego de Palma, mka Benjamin Dean Doggett.)
Free bauble bags will be available as well for those that wish to start their collection and start playing at games. We will also be hosting a fundraising chess tournament with a $5 buy-in with a fabulous prize. Participants are welcome to come and bring their own historical games to share. We look forward to playing with all of you!
Fashion Show
This non-competitive showcase is available to either individuals or teams. The twenty spots are available first-come-first-served to participants who have purchased tickets. Only one person from a team needs to have purchased tickets at the time of registration. The showcase will happen after the third set of dancing (approximately 7:30 pm).
Auction
We've planned a silent auction as a further means of raising funds for our arts community. Artisans are encouraged to, but not required to, provide an item. If the item can be worn, you can use the fashion show to highlight it, otherwise, a table will be set aside for item display. The silent auction will close at approximately 8:30 pm. Only PayPal payments will be accepted for silent auction items.
Dancing and Music
You can expect plenty of dancing at the Masque and live music as well. The set list is available on the Kingdom website and will be taught a few dances at a time throughout the coming year at various events with additional refreshers available at the event. If you're interested in playing music at the event, either in the dance hall or the parlor, contact: Baroness Finella Harper. Email: creekteacher@gmail.com Phone/text: (310) 483-5101.

Highland War 2026: The Battle of Hastings 1066 The Norman Invasion.
This year we will be learning about the Battle of Hastings (History and Scenarios
provided by Lord Stephen of Cumby). Arts and science classes will also be scheduled
throughout the war as well as possible shenanigans.
The battles will take place on lush green fields in Helendale while we learn about the
history behind the scenarios. Just think about all the stories of valor you will be able to
tell around the campfires after the battles. If you still want more after the battles,
tournaments for both Armored and Rapier will be scheduled for your pleasure.
