Battle of the Bridge 4 (Western Seas) - DATE CHANGE
Battle of the Bridge 4 (Western Seas) - DATE CHANGE
May 2, 2026 10:00 am - 5:00 pm
1416 Keolu Dr, Kailua, HI 96734, USA
See description
Aloha! The Doge invites you (AGAIN) to “Ponte dei Pugni” (ye old fighting bridge) for (a third) unforgettable RAPIER event inspired by the real 14th-century “bridge wars” of Venice. Rapier fighters will compete in both solo and 3 fighter teams. The Completely Unnecessary Cloak will be passed along to its next wielder, the fighter who defeats both his enemies... and his allies. At 11am there will be a pancake brunch courtesy of Baroness Sarah. The populace (fighters and non) are encouraged to participate by “bribing” the Doge to favor their chosen fighters. All are encouraged to come in 14th century festive fashion. Watermelons (and possibly Pineapples or other Fruits) will be stabbed for your enjoyment, and prizes will be awarded for both serious and ridiculous reasons. Per the Previous Battle(s) of the Bridge, you might want to bring your (rubber band) pistols (and beware of your brothers and your wives, for nothing is more classically Italian than betrayal!) Et tu,Brute?
Where: 1416 Keolu Dr, Kailua, Oahu. The park is next to the elementary school. In poor weather we will be under the pavilion. In fair weather, we will be behind the baseball field.
Setup: 10am
Cleanup: 5pm
FEE: $5, $15 nonmembers Please bring tents, chairs, snacks & beverages, possible need of trash bags and toilet paper/sanitizer as the restrooms are not always well stocked.

Dragon Hall Tavern welcomes all weary travelers and locals from across Farhaven. On this night, however, the conversation may take a dark turn. Lately, there has been unrest in Farhaven and across the Stern Isles. Crime is running rampant in the city and merchant ships are being attacked on the open sea. Magic users have always been distrusted by the crown, but now an ancient family could threaten the Crown Prince Demetrius Harcourt's claim to the throne. With talk of a royal overseas mission to seek out this family, who were the protectors of the realm's dragons for centuries, there has been an air of uneasiness and whispers of war. Tonight, attempt to leave these worries behind as you head to Dragon heart Tavern... “ just be wary of who you trust.”
Site Description: Mauna Kea Recreation Area is situated approximately 6,500 feet above sea level and generally experiences cool, dry and breezy conditions. On days with sparse or no cloud cover, persons should protect themselves from sun exposure. High winds and heavy rains, though atypical, are possibilities that should be prepared for. Nighttime temperatures during winter months may drop below 30 degrees Fahrenheit (-1 degrees Celsius), so it is recommended to dress in layers. (Here is your opportunity to dress in warmer garb) The weather should be pretty nice in May!
Cabin camping: Camping facilities at Mauna Kea include five regular cabins with room for six people (2 wheelchair accessible cabins) and two bunkhouses with room for 24 people. Cabins and Bunkhouse both have kitchen, bathroom and Living//Dining area If interested in camping please contact the Event Stuarts for more information (We might have a couple spots left in our cabin which will make get even cheaper, Price is split 6 ways) or if you want to rent your own cabin type in the link below. https://hawaiicounty.ehawaii.gov/camping/all,details,57934.html

Wintermist Anniversary
Wintermist Anniversary
May 16, 2026 8:00 am - 5:00 pm
2525 Belle Ter, Bakersfield, CA 93304, USA
See description
The Barony of Wintermist invites the populace of Caid to join us for the celebration of our Baronial Anniversary! On Saturday, May 16th, A.S. 61, we gather to celebrate the spirit of Siegfried — dragon slayer, treasure winner, and hero of the Rhine — in a day filled with courage, camaraderie, and shining renown. Step into legend and join us for a day of bold deeds, bright banners, and high revelry inspired by the great Germanic epic, the Nibelungenlied. We will have armored combat, rapier, and an RBG tournament, as well as A&S and Bardic competitions, to find our new Wintermist champions.
SCHEDULE: 8:00am: Set-up 9:00am: Site opens 10:00am: Opening court (at TRM's pleasure) 11:00am: Tournaments begin 12:30pm: Lunch Break 4:00pm: Closing court 5:00pm: Site closes
ACTIVITIES: TOURNAMENTS: Lists will close 15 minutes after court. Tournaments will begin shortly after the closing of lists. Armored tournament format to be announced soon! Rapier: Tournament will be round robin pools. To represent Siegfrieds Invisibility Cloak, all fighters must use a cloak during their first bout each round. There will also be a special twist for extra points to represent the killing blow to Siegfried’s weak spot Each round, fighters will select a vulnerability (arm, leg, head, forearm, etc) from Brunhild’s Goblet. If struck in that vulnerability or if you strike your opponents vulnerability, an extra point will be awarded. Vulnerabilities will not be revealed until the end of fight to the marshals and Lysts.
It sounds rad!!
RBG: For the first time ever, Wintermist will have a rubber band gun champion. As we all know, His Excellency has a fondness for RBGs, and we will have a dueling tournament to determine Wintermist's first ever RBG champion! A&S: The final leg of the Wintermist Arts and Science Championship competition will take place at Wintermist Anniversary. In the spirit of the theme, the Arts and Sciences categories are inspired by the Saga Of Siegfried and are as follows: 1. Open: Dragons - craft anything with a Draconic theme. Since one of Siegfried's tasks was dragon-slaying, make a model, wood burn a design, paint a scroll, or even write a poem. Whatever you do, make sure to include a dragon. 2. Decorative: Red or White - decorate something anyway you like, but use either red or white in your design. (Note: don't just paint a box white or red, try to add artistic/medieval flare.) 3. Functional: Jewelry - craft some jewelry worthy of Siegfried's lady love, Princess Kriemhild. 4. Edible: Northern European medieval foods. The saga covers, the Germanic, Scandinavian, and Burgundian lands, so make foods (sweets, finger foods, or other inspired dish) from the medieval times in these regions. Extra points will be given for inclusion of Documentation. Additional extra points will be given for use of BOTH Red and White in ANY of the categories. Bardic: Come forth and share with us tales of valor and courage, of great heroes who stood against impossible odds, broken oaths, hidden daggers, and the bitter cost of betrayal. Let your voices ring with triumph, tragedy, love, vengeance, and the long memory of honor lost or kept. Whether your tale be drawn from legend, history, or the fires of your own imagination, bring it forth so that all gathered here may remember that glory is fleeting, loyalty is precious, and every hero’s tale carries the shadow of fate.
EVENT REGISTRATION: Adult Event Registration: $20.00. Adult Member Discount Event Registration: $10.00. Youth aged 15 and under are guests of the Barony; 16 and over are adult price. Cash or checks will be accepted at gate. Checks can be made payable to SCA, Inc./Barony of Wintermist.
