Welcome to the Barony of Calafia!

We are a branch of the Society for Creative Anachronism (SCA), an international organization dedicated to researching and re-creating the arts and skills of the medieval and renaissance periods.
If you are new to the SCA and would like to learn more about our activities, please visit the SCA’s Newcomer Portal.

Our Barony is part of the Kingdom of Caid, whose modern boundaries include southern California, southern Nevada, and Hawaii.

The Barony of Calafia’s modern boundaries includes San Diego and Imperial counties.

We seek to learn about the beauty and chivalry of our past and to share with others the history of medieval Europe. We re-create the fun parts, like the feasts, costumes, and sword fighting …

… but leave out the parts like plagues, lice, and beheadings!
