Darach hosts Medieval Marketplace 2024

When: Nov 30, 2024   Saturday   8:00am – 5:00pm

Where: Camarillo City Center Park, Camarillo, CA

What:

Merchants and shopping galore! Bring your shopping basket and peruse each booth to find treasures dedicated and fitting of history within the SCA period. Local SCA artisans will display their fine goods just in time for the holidays. If you missed War and are still looking for these hard to find items, come to the Shire of Darach for one full day of shopping to fulfill that need.

Attractions: This year, in addition to merchants, we host medieval dancing, medieval lawn games, both Heavy Armor Combat fighting and Rapier combat fighting throughout the day. Two erics will be setup with plenty of room for spectating.

There will be a PEOPLE’S ARTS DISPLAY table. Bring a project you have in progress or a project you have finished to display with simple documentation on what it is and when it is from. If you don’t have a project, please stop by and peruse the displays and vote for your favorites!

9:00 am Site Opens – Merchants ready their wares for sale
9:30 am Arts Display open to accepting entries
10:30 am Opening Announcements
11:00 am – 4pm Fighter erics for Rapier and Heavy Combat opens
11:00 am Dancing Instruction sign ups
1:00 pm-3:00pm Lawn Games and Dancing
3:30 pm Arts Display winners tallied
4:00 pm Closing Court
4:45 pm Site Closes

EVENT REGISTRATION: Adult Event Registration $20, Adult Member Discount Registration $10, all minors are guests of the Shire. Cash or checks accepted at gate. Please make checks payable to “SCA, Inc./Shire of Darach.”

SITE RESTRICTIONS: This is a dry site. Stakes for all pavilions/day shades may be 8” maximum. Animals must be on a leash and under care of their guardian at all times.
