Our Mission:

The Society for Creative Anachronism (SCA) is an international non-profit volunteer educational organization. The SCA is devoted to the research and re-creation of pre-seventeenth century skills, arts, combat, culture, and employing knowledge of history to enrich the lives of participants through events, demonstrations, and other educational presentations and activities.

Our Society

Started in 1966 by a group of Science- Fiction / Fantasy fans in Berkley, California. Since 1966, the Society has grown to twenty kingdoms, which cover the U.S., Canada, Europe, Asia, South Africa, and Australia. There are over 30,000 paid members of the corporation, and the total number of participants is estimated to be around 60,000 people.

Our Kingdom

CAID, an Arabic word meaning "fortress", was originally a principality of the Kingdom of the West covering four regions, Califia, Angels, Isles, and Drieburgen.  CAID officially petitioned to become its own Kingdom in early 1977, and was granted sovereignty in mid- 1978. The modern geographic boundaries encompass Southern California (from just south of Merced to the Mexican border), the Greater Las Vegas area of Southern Nevada, and the entire state of Hawaii.

 Our Barony

Along with the baronies of the Angels, The Isles, and Calafia, Dreiburgen was one of the four founding baronies of the  Principality of Caid. From the German words Drei meaning Three and Burgen meaning castles. The name is reference to both the three primary cities (Riverside, San Bernardino, Redlands) and the surrounding mountain peaks (San Gorgonio, San Jacinto and Mt. Baldy)
