ANNOUNCEMENT FROM THE STEWARD (2026)<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Hello to the Hero\u2019s of Potrero aka Volunteers! <\/span><\/p>\n

This year we will be mixing things up with the Volunteer Raffle: Instead of having the raffle only on Sunday afternoon as we have traditionally done, we will be having a few raffles throughout the weekend. (ooooo, ahhhhhh) We will have the Volunteer Raffle Treasures on display at Base Camp where you can check out all the booty that has been so generously donated by many of the merchants, find the one (or two or three or more) that you\u2019d love to win and place your tickets in the Raffle Ticket Box that corresponds with each \u201cGift Basket.\u201d At approximately 5pm each day, we will have a \u201cdrawing.\u201d With your name and phone number on the back of every ticket, we will reach out and let you know that your treasures await you! There is no need to be present for the Raffle ticket pulled. In addition, after each raffle drawing, new raffle items will be brought out.<\/span><\/p>\n

In addition, we will have separate Volunteer Raffles for the Set Up Crew, as well as the Tear Down Crew. This means that we will be having a Raffle on Wednesday evening at the Volunteer Dinner, Specific Raffles for Thursday through Sunday, and a Raffle just for the Tear Down Crew. PHEW! So many changes, so many opportunities!<\/span><\/p>\n

Volunteer Info<\/strong><\/h2>\n<\/div>\n
Volunteers are the lifeblood of the war, and we need you on our front lines! Each hour worked earns you tickets for the Volunteer Raffle held after court on Sunday. \u00a0Some volunteer positions earn double and even triple the tickets!<\/span> Volunteer hours also earn money that is donated to the official SCA group of your choosing (such as guilds, offices, or geo-political groups like Baronies or Shires).\u00a0<\/span> Give us two hours and we\u2019ll give you a war to remember!<\/strong><\/p>\n

How to Volunteer<\/h3>\n

To volunteer online for Potrero, please navigate to the\u00a0War Volunteer Sign-Up page<\/a>, where you can view open shifts and sign up for as many as you\u2019d like. If you know you will be available on certain days, but can\u2019t commit to specific time slots, sign up in the Volunteer Pool. This Pool is our first stop for filling open positions during war.<\/span> <\/span> <\/span>You always have the option to sign up for open volunteer shifts on site at Base Camp, so if you can\u2019t commit to specific days or times before getting to site, there will be plenty of opportunity to volunteer during war.<\/span> <\/span> <\/span>Please don\u2019t forget to get your volunteer card from Base Camp or the Volunteer Staff. You should record your scheduled shifts on your card as a reminder of where you\u2019ll be serving. We are counting on you to be there at the time and day you indicated. Please don\u2019t let us down!<\/span> <\/span> <\/span>In order for your hours to count for raffle tickets or donations you must have your shift signed off by the shift lead or attending steward.<\/span> Make sure you return your completed Volunteer Card back to the Volunteer Staff. This helps us plan better for future wars, and lets us know who to give funds for your volunteer time.<\/span> Giving generously of your time greatly lightens the load for everyone. With your assistance we will have a great War!<\/span><\/p>\n

Volunteer for the Setup Crew<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Signups for Setup Crew for Potrero 2026 are now closed.\u00a0 Thank you to everyone who filled out the form; please await further communications from our Event Stewards.<\/span> <\/span> <\/span>Please Note <\/strong><\/span>Signing up for the Setup Crew only indicates your willingness to serve on the Setup Crew. This does not guarantee you will be accepted. There is a limit to how many Setup Crew personnel we can have on site, so we will be selecting from the signed up volunteers.
