Welcome to the archery range this year. I expect a great time of fun and friendly competition! Please
note that loaner gear will not be provided at war, bring your own equipment or arrange to borrow gear
ahead of time.

Shoot Descriptions<\/strong><\/span>
Cracking Clays with Brig – Come and enjoy your Friday morning at Potrero by shooting clay pigeons at the
archery range! No better ASMR than the sound of a clay pigeon shattering from your arrow. Challenge your buddies, Settle scores. Or just come and Shoot for the fun of it. Open for all ages<\/p>\n

Let\u2019s Pop It! \u2013 The always fun balloon shoot, come and shoot at balloons and make them pop! Open to all ages<\/p>\n

Mongolian Saren \u2013 Agincorps presents: Saddle up (figuratively) for a fun challenge featuring leather \u201cring\u201d targets shot with blunts (provided) from \u201chorseback\u201d at 10 yards. Each archer starts with 3 coins and can challenge others to win more. The archer with the biggest hoard at the end claims victory! Ages 12 and up<\/p>\n

Youth War Champion Shoot \u2013 Calling all youth interested in creating our Potrero War story. We will have
multiple targets that, once chosen, will create a story of honor, heroes, and danger. Age 17 and under<\/p>\n

Adult War Champion Shoot \u2013 Calling all archers to come and test your luck, your fate and your skills to
become this year\u2019s war champion. Adults only<\/p>\n

Rules of the Range<\/strong><\/span>
\u25cf Each archer present their equipment for inspection by the Marshal(s) and receives a inspection sticker good throughout war.
\u25cf Do not approach the shooting line unless instructed to do so by the Marshal of the Line.
\u25cf Straddle the line when firing. Exceptions to this rule can only be made by the Range Marshal in Charge.
\u25cf Nock and begin loosing arrows only at the command of the Marshal of the Line
\u25cf All archers must be able to hear the Marshal make their calls. To this end, nothing that would lessen an archer\u2019s ability to hear (headphones, earplugs, etc) is allowed on the line. Those archers who are hard of hearing are recommended to stand near the Marshal of the Line and alert them of any difficulties they may have.
\u25cf When a HOLD is called, it applies to all shoots\u00a0 currently happening on the range. All archers are required to safely ease down drawn bows and unnock arrows. Anyone may call HOLD if they see an obstruction on the field that warrants the call.
\u25cf All archers will at minimum step back off the line when finished shooting to give the Marshal of the Line a clear line of sight at the remaining active archers.
\u25cf Do not go forward of the line to retrieve arrows until commanded to do so by the Marshal of the Line.
\u25cf When approaching the target, remember to watch for and avoid arrows in and on the ground. Do not touch or pull any arrows in the target until all the\u00a0 scores from your target have been recorded, including arrows in the target which do not score. Arrows\u00a0 removed before they have been scored may not be counted, and in some shoots if your score has not been verified and you remove your arrows you will receive no points.
\u25cf Do not retrieve or pull another archer’s arrows without first asking their permission.<\/p>\n

Line Commands and Procedures<\/strong><\/span>
1. The Marshal of the Line will order all archers to the line.
2. The Marshal of the Line and any assistant Range Marshals will check to see that there is no one downrange.
3. For competitions, the Marshal of the Line will state the number of arrows to be shot, the range, whether or not there is a time limit and the nature of the end (scoring or practice).
4. The Marshal of the Line will call the range OPEN. For Untimed\/Slow ends, the Marshal of the Line will issue the command to commence shooting. For Timed\/Speed ends, the Range Marshal will outline the rules of the timed end.
5. The Marshal of the Line will check to make sure all archers have finished shooting.
6. The Marshal of the Line will call the range CLOSED
7. For ranges with staggered targets, the Marshal of the Line will instruct the archers to leave their equipment behind the line, retrieve arrows, and score if it was a scoring end.<\/p>\n
