The Argent Independent City-States scramble to unite their allies and stop the advance of the advancing army.<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Set up<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The following general guidelines will be used in the construction and execution of all scenarios:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Marshall\u2019s Point will open at 9:00 AM each day of combat.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Fighting will start at 10:00 AM.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The boundaries of each battlefield will be defined by stakes and caution tape or in some cases by a line of hay bales.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Generally, there will be five minutes in between rounds of scenarios. There will be fifteen minute breaks when transitioning to a different scenario.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The \u2018Hat\u2019s On\u2019 signal will be given via a distinct air horn, whistle or verbal signal 5 minutes before \u2018Lay On\u2019.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u2018Lay On\u2019 will be signaled with a distinct air horn, whistle or verbal signal.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The scenario will conclude with a distinct airhorn, whistle or verbal signal.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Scenario Rules and Structure<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The following rules will apply to ALL scenarios, unless otherwise noted in the individual scenario breakdowns:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">There are no prohibitions on weapons types between scenarios. All legal weapons are allowed at all times for all scenarios.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Thrown weapons and combat archery will be allowed in ALL scenarios. Gleaning arrows can be accomplished in between rounds or off the battlefield during combat. They meet in open battle for the first time, augmented with their own healers and chirurgeons.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<h1><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Set-up<\/span><\/h1>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Purple and White sides will be positioned opposite each other on either side of the field. Combat archery and thrown weapons will be allowed in all rounds, so appropriate boundaries and firing lanes must be maintained in order to protect the audience from stray projectiles. Additionally, any siege weapon(s) will be placed in such a way as to minimize the risk of projectiles to the audience.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Each team will be provisioned with four foam sticks (pool noodles) that will be used to designate battlefield medics\/chirurgeons. They will be responsible for choosing which combatants will be act as medics. These combatants must have adequate hand protection on both hands i.e. the foam pool noodle hand must be protected by a full gauntlet.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h1><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Battlefield<\/span><\/h1>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">As defined during the walkthrough in coordination with Potrero campground. Boundaries will be set with caution tape and wooden stakes.<\/span>\u00a0<\/p>\n<h1><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Scenario Rules<\/span><\/h1>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Each team will be provided with four foam sticks (pool noodles) that will be used to designate their battlefield medics. Each medic has the following special rules\/abilities:<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Medics can revive fallen combatants by placing or tapping their helmets with their foam noodle and stating \u2018Rise, and fight again\u201d. This should take no less than a two-count.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Medics can have a shield or weapon in their free hand, as long as their hands are adequately protected.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Medics can fight and kill enemy combatants with their weapon, if they choose to have one.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Medics cannot kill combatants with their foam noodle.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Medics can be killed via any normal means.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Medics cannot be revived once killed. The noodle will remain where it is dropped until the scenario is reset.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If a non-medic combatant is killed, they must fall where they were or otherwise indicate they are \u2018wounded\u2019. They are now immobile until healed.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\u00a0<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The battle will proceed to the last man standing. The side with any remaining combatants will be judged the winner. The scenario will be fought four times, with Purple and White sides shifting starting sides on the 3rd and 4th round.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p><\/div>\n\t\t\t<\/div><div class=\"et_pb_toggle et_pb_module et_d4_element et_pb_accordion_item et_pb_accordion_item_3  et_pb_toggle_close\">\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t<h2 class=\"et_pb_toggle_title\">Ambush the King<\/h2>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"et_pb_toggle_content clearfix\"><h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Background<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The King\u2019s army is ambushed by the enemy while marching.<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Set up<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The battlefield will be set up with the following features:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">100\u2019 x 100\u2019<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Road<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> - <\/span><b>20<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">-foot wide portion of the center of the battlefield running completely across it from the <\/span><b>west <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">side to the <\/span><b>east <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">side.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Roadblock<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> - A row of hay bales representing a felled tree placed at the <\/span><b>west<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> end of the Road, behind which a siege weapon will be concealed. The hay bales are to be treated as-is and may be fought and climbed over.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Battlefield<\/span><\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/places.sca-caid.org\/potrero\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/22\/2024\/05\/2024-armored-kings-army.png\"><\/img><\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Scenario Rules<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Defenders<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">: They must begin the scenario on the <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Road <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">and be facing the <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Roadblock<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. They may not set up closer than <\/span><b>30<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> feet to the <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Roadblock<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. They will designate a King (VIP) who will wear a unique tabard colored to match their side-tape.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Attackers: <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">They must begin the scenario at least <\/span><b>20<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> feet from the <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Road <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">on the <\/span><b>north<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> or <\/span><b>south<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> side and be kneeling.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Once \u201cLay On\u201d is called the siege weapon will be revealed and all combatants may move freely about the battlefield. The scenario will be timed. Combat will continue until either the attacking or defending forces are completely destroyed. The scenario will be fought four times. The Attacking and Defending forces will switch for the 3rd and 4th bouts. Fastest victory out of the four bouts wins the scenario.<\/span><\/div>\n\t\t\t<\/div><div class=\"et_pb_toggle et_pb_module et_d4_element et_pb_accordion_item et_pb_accordion_item_4  et_pb_toggle_close\">\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t<h2 class=\"et_pb_toggle_title\">Bridge Hold-the-Middle Scenario<\/h2>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"et_pb_toggle_content clearfix\"><h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Background<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Purple attempts to force crossing a bridge, Argent attempts to stop them!<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Set-up<\/span><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The bridge will be lined with 1 hay bale high barriers on the sides.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">An edge-of-the-world will be marked on opposite sides.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Battlefield<\/span><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Prioritize a flat area (no gully) that is dust-free.<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/places.sca-caid.org\/potrero\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/22\/2024\/05\/2024-armored-hold-the-middle.png\"><\/img>\n<\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Scenario Rules<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The following rules will apply to the bridge scenario:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Both sides will have unlimited resurrections.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Points will be recorded at 5 min intervals for whichever team is holding the center of the bridge.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Archers may stand on hay bales.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">There is no melee fighting while standing on the hay bales.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Two feet off the hay bale is dead.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">No jumping off the hay bales.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul><\/ul><\/div>\n\t\t\t<\/div><div class=\"et_pb_toggle et_pb_module et_d4_element et_pb_accordion_item et_pb_accordion_item_5  et_pb_toggle_close\">\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t<h2 class=\"et_pb_toggle_title\">Advancing Fortification Assault<\/h2>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"et_pb_toggle_content clearfix\"><h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Background<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The enemy army is encamped in an old motte and bailey fortification. The attackers surprise them with a forward assault!<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Set-up<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The fortification will consist of an outer rampart (motte) and an inner keep (bailey) with the following characteristics:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The outer fortification (motte) will consist of a hay bale rampart, one hay bales high, with three hay bale high crenellations placed at regular intervals. A single hay bale high step will be placed on the inner side of the rampart where these crenellations occur. Fighting is allowed over the wall by all weapons types from both the attacking and defending side. Stepping on one hay bale high is allowed. Stepping or climbing over two hay bales or higher is prohibited.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A square inner keep (3 haybales high) will be constructed with one gate and infinitely high walls. Archers may stand on and fire from haybale steps on the inner side of this wall, but cannot be engaged from outside the keep, except by other archers and siege weapons. The keep will have one main gate facing the rampart at least two hay bale lengths wide.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Combat archery and thrown weapons will be allowed in all rounds, so appropriate boundaries and firing lanes must be maintained in order to protect the audience from stray projectiles. At \u2018lay on\u2019 they may position themselves wherever they find the most advantageous.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Defenders will have infinite resurrections until the last redoubt is taken by the attacking team.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The defender\u2019s res point will be behind the fortification and will remain consistent through the entire scenario.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Defenders may not take a redoubt point back once it is lost.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Attackers:\u00a0<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Attackers will start at their resurrection point and have infinite resurrections.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The attacking team will start with three flags. A redoubt is taken once a flag is planted in the corresponding redoubt stanchion.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">After a redoubt is taken, the attacking team\u2019s res point becomes the forwardmost redoubt.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The battles will be timed, with the time ending when the last defender is killed. The scenario will be fought four times, with Purple and White sides shifting starting sides on the 3rd and 4th round. The team with the shortest average assault time (when their two times are averaged together) shall be judged the victor.\u00a0<\/span><\/p><\/div>\n\t\t\t<\/div><div class=\"et_pb_toggle et_pb_module et_d4_element et_pb_accordion_item et_pb_accordion_item_6  et_pb_toggle_close\">\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t<h2 class=\"et_pb_toggle_title\">Thrown Weapon Dodgeball: Dodge-Hammer<\/h2>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"et_pb_toggle_content clearfix\"><h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Background<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The free peoples of the White Independent City-States challenge the invading Purple Imperials to a deadly game of thrown-weapon dodgeball. If you can dodge a hammer, you can dodge death itself!\u00a0<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Set-up<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The battlefield will be set-up like a standard dodgeball court, rectangular and divided into two equal halves. The middle and all boundary lines will be marked appropriately. Stepping two feet out or over the center-line immediately kills the combatant.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Attackers acknowledge arms and leg shots as normal. Shots to the torso, head, groin and throat are considered \u2018kill\u2019 shots and the combatant is out.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Matches are untimed. The team with the last combatant(s) standing wins.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">There are no shields or weapons other than thrown weapons allowed.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">There are no \u2018telling blows\u2019 in this event. A thrown weapon that makes contact with you is considered good.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The scenario will use standard dodgeball rules:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Participants must stay in their zone (their half of the court, for the duration of the match).<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Combatants will run to the center line to retrieve weapons at the beginning of combat.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Combatants are \u2018out\u2019 if they fail to block a thrown weapon and it makes contact with their body. There are no \u2018telling blows\u2019 in this event.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Combatants may block thrown weapons with thrown weapons they are holding.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If a combatant throws a weapon at an opponent, and then the opponent catches it, the combatant who threw the weapon is out. If we have no marshals or help with hay bales, we cannot run our scenarios. MITs (Marshals in Training) are also needed! Anyone is welcome to help bring water\/gatorade\/pickle juice to the fighters, as we will have bottles and bags for people to carry and distribute. Each fighting unit is encouraged to bring at least one flat of water for each fighter.<\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\n\n<!-- wp:heading {\"level\":3} -->\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">ARMOR INSPECTION<\/h3>\n<!-- \/wp:heading -->\n\n<!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p>Inspections will happen at the Marshal Point before any fighting begins. They will not be allowed to fire from the sides onto the bridge<br>There will be very little time between battles for arrow inspection. There will be time between each set of battles.
