Why are Sleepy Hollow RV Reservations opening early?

This is part of our effort to streamline Potrero Pre-Registration and Land Allocation. Since RV reservations are more involved than tent camping land allocation, we want to ensure our team has time to dedicate solely to taking care of our Sleepy Hollow RV folks.

Do I need an RV to reserve a spot with hookups?

No! The form is for the slips (and associated land, if applicable). We do not require you to have an RV to reserve them.

Is the camp space (land) tied to its associated RV spot?

Yes! This part of Potrero Land allocation is just like regular RV camping in any park; if a slip has accompanying land, it is reserved together.

Who should complete the RV Reservation form?

Since the form is for individual numbered spots, it should be completed by the camp master OR owner/renter/driver of the RV, but NOT both.

Do Campmasters have to Land Allocate before the rest of their camp?

No! Established camps will be available to select for Land Allocation immediately. If your camp is not yet listed on the form, you will still be able to indicate your camp name.

Is land allocation separate from pre-registration?

Yes. We are making every effort to prevent duplication and make signing up for Potrero as simple as possible; that said, this is a volunteer effort and our resources are limited.

When does Land Allocation/Pre-Registration open/end?

RV Reservations open 2/1 at 9:00 am.
General pre-reg and land allocation opens on 2/14 at 9:00 am.
Land Allocation will close on 5/8 at 9:00 pm. Pre-Registration will close on 5/15 at 9:00 pm.

Where will my camp be?

Because the park is home to many protected species that continue to grow and change each year, we cannot say with 100% certainty what the war's layout will be until we start set up.  We will do our best to accommodate the preferences shared by your Camp Masters, but a map and signage will be provided on site so everyone knows where to set up on arrival.

How do I sign up for Setup Crew?

A signup form will be posted in April allowing you to express interest in helping with setup.  Please keep in mind that filling out the form will NOT guarantee you a spot on the Setup Crew; the team will be confirmed afterward by the War Stewards via email.

What is the water situation this year?

As far as we know, Potrero Park WILL have potable water available during Potrero War.  Please review our Grey Water Disposal guidelines here.

What's up with the green trash cans?

California SB 1383 requires that we collect organic materials separate from landfill or recyclable waste.  The new green containers are for food scraps, food-soiled paper, and yard waste—the same way blue containers are for bottles, cans, and plastic.  Please help us do our part to help the park and the planet by sorting your trash into the proper bins!  More info about our Food Waste and Trash Policy here.

I am interested in teaching a class. How can I do that?

Arts & Sciences is accepting class proposals. Please contact arts@potrerowar.sca-caid.org.

Where can I park my dragon (ahem… car)?

There are several parking spots throughout the site that you may park in. Please only park in spaces that are clearly marked. Many spots around the trees look like they are parking spots but they are not designated for cars as the tree roots are shallow and parking there will damage the trees. Do not park off-road or on any non-paved spot unless directed to do so by a parking attendant in the overflow parking lot.

How do I bring minor on site that is not my own child?

See our rules on minors and children.

Can we bring alcohol?

Per the park regulations, alcohol in excess of 20% by volume is not permitted in the park. As a reminder, all guests agree to abide by the park rules and regulations when signing in at gate. If you have any questions about Potrero Park rules, you can look them up on the county park website here.

Can we bring firewood?

No, firewood must be purchased on site at Base Camp.  It is $6 a bundle, at the discretion of the park rangers.

Can I bring my dog?

Yes! We follow the Potrero County Park policy: they must be licensed, restrained on a leash not longer than 6 feet, and attended at all times. If you plan to do any hiking outside the event dogs are, unfortunately, not allowed on the trails.

Please also let the Gate attendant know you have a dog when you check in. There's no extra fee, but we provide "wristbands" to ensure proper identification.

My question isn't answered here, who do I ask?

Land-specific questions can be directed to land@potrerowar.sca-caid.org.
Pre-reg questions should go to prereg@potrerowar.sca-caid.org.

If you're not sure, please contact stewards@potrerowar.sca-caid.org.
