Gatebook Art Contest
Would you like to have your art featured in the Potrero War 2025 Gatebook? We would love to see it! All entries will be featured in either the printed or virtual Gatebook, with one lucky artisan’s work as our cover!

Deadline for Submissions is Monday, April 14th.

Contestants may submit one or two versions of the piece. The first must be black and white, the other can be full color. If contestants submit a full color piece, that one will be used in the digital gatebook, otherwise the black and white one will be used (and may be modified/colorized).

Art size should be at least 30cm high by 21cm wide for front cover page submissions, or 30cm high by 42cm wide for double page (front & back cover) submissions. If submitting a front & back piece, the format is back page (left)-front page (right).

Image files should be at least 300dpi and can be any standard image format (JPG, PNG, etc). Err on the side of higher quality/less compression.

The art needs to work within the theme of the event “Raising a Viking Village” and be family friendly. It also must not contain any copyrighted elements/characters/images. Any symbols used in the artwork will be checked against the Global Extremist and Anti-Defamation League symbol databases. Any submission with offensive symbology will be disqualified and forwarded to the Seneschal for further investigation.

The artwork should either include the following: “The Barony of Calafia Presents Potrero War 2025” and “May 22nd-26th 2025” in a fairly large and easy-to-see format, or it should have enough open space for that information to be added.

Artist waivers must be signed for anyone submitting artwork.

Images may be altered or modified as necessary to fit with gatebook requirements. The artist will be notified prior to any necessary modifications.
