Avast, ye scurvy dogs, th\u2019 summer\u2019ll soon be thick upon us w\u2019 th\u2019 sun a harsh mistress, blazin\u2019 high n\u2019 fierce \u2018cross land n\u2019 sea, lashin\u2019 our hides n\u2019 boilin\u2019 our brains \u2018til even the roughest jack among us\u2019ll be scawlin\u2019 like a hungry babe in a wet nappy! Comfort\u2019ll be a fine treasure then, to be sure, for all that it\u2019ll be hard to secure but if ye be interested\u2026?<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Thar be tell of a place where th\u2019 shade spreads like honey over grasses as soft as a maidens\u2026fresh baked bread, \u2018neath azure skies where th\u2019 air be rich with COOL BREEZES perfumed by th\u2019sea. Tis called th\u2019 Shire o\u2019 Daaarach, a haven for all gentleman n\u2019 ladies o\u2019 fortune to take their leisure w\u2019 GAMES o\u2019 chance n\u2019 amusement, a bit o\u2019 SONG, n\u2019 no small amount of BRAWLIN\u2019 fer yer entertainment. So if ye th\u2019 wind to outrun ol\u2019 Jack Ketch then ruck up yer gear and make fer shore!<\/p>\n

Theme:<\/strong> <\/span><\/span> This years theme is \"Kraken<\/span>!\" Contests will consider best use of the theme<\/p>\n

Our annual contests return so we\u2019ll be lookin\u2019 fer some o\u2019 these:<\/p>\n

MOST BODACIOUS PIRATE !!
\n(includes something representing the theme of Kraken)
\nBEST EYE PATCH!!<\/p>\n

BEST DEATH CRY ON THE BATTLE FIELD!!<\/p>\n

Attractions<\/strong>: This year we will have both Heavy Armor Combat scenarios and Rapier Scenarios throughout the day. Two erics will be setup with two fighting coordinators running scenarios.<\/p>\n

Look for the \"White Elephant\" rummage sale fund raiser tent hosted by generous donations of second hand items to the Shire.<\/p>\n

There will be a PEOPLE'S ARTS DISPLAY table. Bring a project you have in progress or one you have finished to display with documentation on what it is and when it is from. If you don't have a project, peruse the displays and vote for your favorites!<\/p>\n

Volunteer Pot Luck!<\/p>\n

Bring a treat to share (serves about 10) that can survive a bit of midday sun.<\/p>\n

We will have a hydration station booth! This will be to support everyone, as well as the fighters. We will have limited water, lemonade, Gatorade, orange & pickles slices as well as some misting bottles and cooling cloths available on site.<\/p>\n

EVENT REGISTRATION<\/b>: Adult Event Registration: $15. Adult Member Discount Event Registration: $5. Children under 17 are free as guests of the Shire. Cash and checks accepted at gate. Please make checks payable to: \u201cSCA Inc.\/Shire of Darach.\u201d<\/p>\n
