Armored Combat<\/span><\/h2>\n

Every week we have armored combat practice on Thursdays from 6:00pm until 9:00pm at Thousand Oaks Community Park<\/a> in Thousand Oaks.\u00a0 <\/span>The purpose is to learn and progress your skills, to prepare you for Tournaments at regular events.\u00a0 This form of combat puts you in an armored suit, whether it be leather, chain, or plate.\u00a0 And has styles such as sword and shield, great weapon, or Florentine.\u00a0 Join the facebook group<\/a> or our discord server<\/a> to ask ahead for things like loaner armor.<\/p>\n

Rapier\/Fencing Combat<\/span><\/h2>\n

Every week we have rapier combat practice on Sunday from 12:00pm until 3:30pm on the South-West corner of<\/span> Via Marina Park in Oxnard.<\/a> The purpose is to learn historical techniques and progress your skills, to prepare you for Tournaments at regular events and to have fun.\u00a0 This form of fighter practice combat puts you in a linen doublet and fights with a Steel Rapier blade, focusing in thrusts.\u00a0 Join the facebook group<\/a> or our discord server<\/a> to ask ahead for things like loaner armor.<\/p>\n

Archery<\/span><\/h2>\n

Youth Combat<\/span><\/h2>\n

In the SCA youth under 16 may be permitted to fight, as long as they are old enough to take direction, and up to the ages of 16.\u00a0 Once they become 16 they can promote to Armored or Rapier combat.\u00a0 Practice is as needed, and at the same locations as the Armored and Rapier practices.\u00a0 An adult must be present for minors to participate. Equestrian<\/span><\/h2>\n

Equestrian Practices are the third Sunday of each month, starting in February 2024 and weather permitting. Location is Conejo Creek Equestrian Center: 1350 E Avenida De Las Flores, Thousand Oaks, CA 91360. Council
<\/span><\/h2>\n

This is a once a month get together where we discuss Shire upcoming local events and affairs. We follow a published agenda and the meeting usually lasts about an hour. It is encouraged that all Darach Shire officers attend the council or send an absentee report. The meeting is open to everyone to attend.<\/p>\n
