SCA stands for Society for Creative Anachronism. We are a mediveal recreation group, started in the 1970’s.\u00a0 The group has 10’s of thousands of members worldwide, with a few thousand of those in your Kingdom.\u00a0 The Society is broken up into 23 Kingdoms.\u00a0 We are in the Kingdom of Caid, which is broken up into 15 Baronies and Shires.\u00a0 The group regularly meets, either at a regional level (like practices and local events), or at the Kingdom level for events with hundreds or thousands of people.\u00a0 With events nearly every weekend somewhere in Caid.<\/p>\n

The Shire of Darach<\/strong> is a vibrant and welcoming branch of the Society for Creative Anachronism, located in Ventura County, California<\/strong>, within the Kingdom of Caid<\/strong>. As a shire, Darach is a smaller local group that thrives on the enthusiasm and creativity of its members.<\/p>\n The people of Darach are dedicated to exploring and celebrating the medieval and Renaissance periods through a wide variety of activities including armored combat, rapier fencing, archery, arts and sciences, dance, bardic performance, and historical research. Whether you’re interested in sewing garb, brewing, calligraphy and illumination, or just hanging out around the campfire at an event, there’s a place for you in Darach.<\/p>\n Events hosted by the shire range from local tournaments and feasts to craft nights and newcomer gatherings. With a warm, inclusive atmosphere and a focus on learning and camaraderie, Darach is a great place for both new and seasoned SCAdians.<\/p>\n The shire is also known for its picturesque setting
