Darach hosts Caid Rapier Open 2023

When<\/strong>: Sep 23, 2023 \u00a0 Saturday\u00a0\u00a0 8:00am \u2013 5:00pm<\/p>\n

Where<\/strong>: Valle Lindo Park, North-East corner off Coe St. Camarillo, CA<\/p>\n

What<\/strong>:<\/span><\/p>\n

By the shores of Darach, Caid Rapier Open will be held this year cooled by the ocean. Sharpen your swords (and wax them well!) and bring your best game on September 23rd. Unfortunately there will be no merchanting at this event. The fighting will commence at 11am after announcements at Valle Linde Park in Camarillo.<\/em><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cWell, Rapier open is done, and the regalia is passed to Master Todd Jonathan Getty<\/span>! It was an exciting final between Todd and Master Niko Phaistos<\/span>, going all three fights.<\/em><\/div>\n
I\u2019d like to thank everyone who fought and everyone who helped \u2013 the fighting was exceptionally clean and people appeared to enjoy the day. Congratulations to Merlin for being the most Chivalrous fighter! As well, to Galen Crow for victory in the cut and thrust list.<\/em><\/div>\n
Thank you\u2019s go out to: Etain for gate, Albra Kathryn Wolters<\/span> for gate and gifts, Richard for the signs and help, Kim\u00a0<\/span>for insurance, Aran Darkhelm for gifts and of course for schlepping everything we needed! Bruce Miller<\/span> for his heraldic voice. Thanks to Tomisina for lists signup and a huge shout out to Cailfiend for saving my bacon with the lists when I forgot to ask her! Thanks to Their Majesties (Lorissa and Wilhelm) for Their support of the community \u2013 we truly appreciate it!<\/em><\/div>\n
Fighting wouldn\u2019t have been possible without all the dedicated marshals \u2013 Gerhart, Alexander , and everyone else I can\u2019t recall, as well as Una for organizing real heraldic help for all the fields!<\/em><\/div>\n
Finally, thanks to everyone who helped to breakdown, wrap the rope, put the posts away, gather in the signs and load up the \u201cBronco\u201d. Help at the end of a long day is incredibly appreciated.

SITE RESTRICTIONS<\/b>: This is a dry site. Stakes for all pavilions\/day shades may be 8\u201d maximum. Animals must be on a leash and under control of their guardian at all times.<\/p>\n
