Don your purple garb and get ready to Party Like It\u2019s 999!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

SCHEDULE<\/strong>:
8am - Site Opens
9am - Gate Opens
10am - Opening Court (at their Excellencies leisure)
3pm - Closing Court (at their Excellencies leisure)
5pm - Site Closes<\/p>\n\n\n\n

REGISTRATION INFORMATION<\/strong>: Gate is free but we appreciate any donations you're willing to make to our Canton.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

COMBAT SCENARIOS<\/strong>: Buckle Up Buttercup! It\u2019s a buckler battle! We will be hosting a speed-style ransom tourney where you must use a buckler as a sidearm for both heavies and cut and thrust. Fighters will be provided with 5 tokens at the beginning of the day and the loser of each bout will give a token to the winner. When a fighter is out of tokens they are eliminated and the fighter with the most tokens at the end of the day is the winner. Fighters must bring their own weapons and come with their authorized fighter card.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We encourage all combatants to BYOB (Bring Your Own Buckler) but we will have a few spares on hand to loan out. Supplies are limited though! Armored combat bucklers are defined by the Caid Armored Handbook as, \u201ca small round center-gripped shield 6\u201d to 18\u201d in diameter.\u201d Cut and Thrust bucklers are defined by the Caid Rapier Handbook as having, \u201ca maximum surface area not exceeding 314 square inches (this would allow for a round buckler of 20\u201d)\u201d Your buckler must follow these guidelines or it will not be allowed in the tourney.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

YOUTH COMBAT<\/strong>: This year we are fortunate to be hosting youth combat! Immediately after opening court there will be a short youth combat tournament to kick off the day\u2019s events.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

BARDIC COMPETITION<\/strong>: Calling all bards! For this year\u2019s annual bardic competition we request that competitors prepare either a period adaptation of a Prince song or a romantic ballad. Winner\u2019s will be determined through populace choice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

HYPE-HERALD COMPETITION<\/strong>: Returning for year two is our hype-harold competition! We are looking for ambitious competitors to help herald our fighters into eriks. The most entertaining field herald shall be named the Hype-Herald of Summergate and will win a fabulous favor for the year! No prior experience necessary.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

LUNCH<\/strong>: TBD<\/p>\n\n\n\n

From the 78 either direction: Take exit 2 onto El Camino Real going North. Drive until Oceanside Blvd and then turn left. Continue until S Barnwell St. and turn right. The park will be at the top of the hill on your right.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

From the 5 Northbound: Take exit 52 onto Oceanside Blvd and turn left onto Oceanside Blvd. Continue until S Barnwell St. and turn left. The park will be at the top of the hill on your right.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

From the 5 Southbound: Take exit 53 onto Mission Ave and turn left on Mission Ave. Continue until Mesa Dr and turn right. Turn left onto N Barnwell St and the park will be on your right.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
