Baronial Guilds<\/h4>

Newcomers' Guild<\/h4>

This is the personal household of the Baron and Baroness of Calafia, and is designed for those new to the Barony or the SCA.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>Members of the household attend meetings to learn what we do and how we do it. New members are usually part of the household for about 6 to 12 months, but everyone is welcome.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n

Brewers' Guild<\/h4>

The Calafian Brewers Guild is devoted to historical education and recreation of brewing techniques from 600-1650AD, both alcoholic and non-. Meetings are open to all over the age of 18 (due to hot liquids & the use of burners), with a 21 year age requirement for tasting of fermented beverages.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n

The Company of St. Catherine<\/h4>

The baronial guild is dedicated to the fiber arts. We spin, weave, knit, and do most anything that involves string.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n

The Company of the Golden Fox\u2019s mission is to encourage and promote the study, recreation and research of the Courtesans throughout the Greek, Middle Ages, and Renaissance re-creation of such, as well as the sharing of knowledge of costuming, sex work, history of Courtesans, Salons etc. as well as provide a safe meeting space for members to discuss sex positivity and sexuality of the Greek, Middle Ages, and Renaissance.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n

Costumers Guild<\/h4>

The guild is for those interested in period costuming. We are open to all levels of skill.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n

Equestrian Guild<\/h4>

Meetings:<\/strong> 4th Sunday of each month, 9:30am to mid-afternoon at Tumbleweed Ranch<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n

The Equestrian Guild is dedicated to the practice of skills at arms on horseback. We also practice and learn basic and essential horsemanship. One does not need to own a horse to participate. However, horse sharing is at the discretion of the horse owner. <\/span>There is no charge for attendance but donations are accepted.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Facebook group linked above is for Kingdom Equestrian, but the Calafia Equestrian community is one of the most active there so it's a great resource for those interested.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n

Music Guild<\/h4>

The guild promotes the music of the European Renaissance and Medieval periods through instrumental and vocal performance and instruction. The guild enjoys performing early music for entertainment and for dancing.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n

Needleworkers'\u00a0Guild<\/h4>

Meetings:<\/strong> 3rd Sunday of each month at noon at the Guild Stewards home (see Baronial Facebook page)<\/span><\/p>\n

The guild's mission is to encourage and promote the study and research of medieval needlework to include any period needle work that is done to embellish; the learning of period stitches and re-creation of such; the sharing of knowledge and techniques; and to engender ardor for such handiwork.<\/span><\/p>\n

Anyone who does any type of needlework is welcome, from embroidery to handwork on garb. We also have members who do inkle and card weaving. Our members range from beginners to those with experience to share. Come, bring a chair, and your current project or plans.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n
